Watch out for Corgi on QVCWatch out for Corgi on QVCWatch out for Corgi on QVC

For one day only, the UK's favourite shopping channel will showcase a new star - Corgi, famous for making the great small, is set to take centre stage on QVC on Thursday June 7th.

The matinee performance - curtains up at 3pm - will not only feature a wide selection of Corgi’s highly sought after models, but promises to take viewers for a drive down memory lane.  Miniature cars, buses and planes from across the decades will be displayed alongside historical footage of some of the life size vehicles on which they were based.

Icons making an appearance will include:

  • A Limited Edition Routemaster Bus, London Transport Livery, in 1:43 scale (MT00103)
Don’t miss this bus – Corgi has resurrected the celebrated Mettoy name and produced a highly crafted tinplate Routemaster, complete with clockwork drive mechanism, working front wheel steering and of course an operating bell.
  • A Limited Edition Monte Carlo Winners Set, in 1:43 scale (MC1004)
The Mini Cooper S astounded the racing world with successive victories in the Monte Carlo Rally from 1964 to 1967.  This set features all of the winning cars, although the 1966 entrant was in fact disqualified on a technicality over its headlight bulbs.

Jill Edwards, Marketing Manager – Collectables at Corgi, said: “QVC offers a fantastic  channel to showcase Corgi’s products and we hope people will enjoy our selection.  Each item has been specially chosen to demonstrate the history behind our models and strike a chord with viewers.  And what’s more, the programme promises to provide some great inspiration for those looking for Father’s Day gift ideas!”

The show will be guest presented by Darren Epstein, Executive Vice President – Global Business Development at Corgi International and the host from QVC.

QVC UK is the leading shopping channel in the UK and offers a wide variety of brand name products within its categories of apparel and beauty, jewellery, home innovation and home style. It is carried on satellite, cable and digital systems throughout England, Scotland and Ireland, reaching 15.6 million homes and can be seen on the following channels: Sky, Freeview and Virgin Cable.  The QVC Video Centre also offers on-demand video clips of product demonstrations on the website at www.qvcuk.com.
